Adv. Maeve McDermott

Adv McDermott is a legal researcher for the Climate Law and Governance Initiative. She is the chair of the National Lawyers Guild at Vermont Law School. Adv McDermott is also an author for JURIST, an online legal news and commentary service. Previously, Adv McDermott worked as a law clerk at the law office of Mayer & Mayer in Vermont. She also worked as a research clinician for the Center for Agriculture and Food Systems.
Prior to her involvement in the legal field, Adv McDermott worked as a researcher in the Dent Lab in the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Adv McDermott also worked as a service coordinator for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, working to create a bridge between the student population and those living in homelessness.
Her research interests focus on international and regional policy efforts to mitigate climate change.
