Dr. Sadoff is Senior Legal Research Fellow with CISDL. He has served as Managing Director of the Clooney Foundation for Justice, inaugural Executive Director of the Center for Ethics and the Rule of Law (CERL) at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School (Penn Law), General Counsel of the Rome-based International Development Law Organization (IDLO, and the first Nepal Country Director for the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI). He also has been Deputy Legal Adviser and Director of Intelligence Reform with the U.S. National Security Council (NSC); Assistant General Counsel at the CIA; Litigation Associate for Crowell & Moring LLP, a leading Washington, DC firm; and Foreign Affairs Officer at the U.S. Department of State. He is a Distinguished International Research Fellow with the World Engagement Institute (WEI) and a Non-Resident Senior Fellow with the Enough Project and has been a Senior Legal Adviser with International Bridges to Justice (IBJ) and a Lecturer in Law at Penn Law. He has authored Bringing International Fugitives to Justice: Extradition and Its Alternatives (CUP 2016) and a number of journal articles on public international law issues. He holds a J.D. from Georgetown University, a PhD in Public International Law and an LL.M in International Humanitarian Law from the Université de Genève in Switzerland, an M.P.P. from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a B.A. from Dartmouth College. He resides in northern California.
