Micha Schwartzshtein is a lawyer at Clifford Chance. Micha practices in international arbitration, investor-state dispute settlement, international investment law and commercial litigation. Her work also involves constructing and negotiating contractual instruments containing regulatory regimes applicable to various energy and resources projects. She also has experience advising clients on energy transition-related opportunities. Micha has an academic interest in the intersection between international trade and investment law, international environmental law and sustainable development. 

 

Micha has previously worked as a research assistant and legal editor to the former Chief Justice of Victoria (Australia), the Honourable Marilyn Warren AC KC and to Dr Gavan Griffith AO KC, a leading international arbitrator and former Solicitor General of Australia. She also assisted with the legal editing of International and Australian Commercial Arbitration (Croft AM SC, C., Stamboulakis, D., & Warren AC KC, 1st ed, 2021) alongside the forthcoming Research Handbook on Sustainable Development and International Investment Law and the Kluwer Volume on Sustainable Management of Natural Resources.

 

Micha is the co-founder of Australia Very Young Arbitration Practitioners (AUS VYAP), the first VYAP in Oceania. AUS VYAP is a national arbitration organisation in Australia which is part of an international network of 26 chapters worldwide. Recently, Micha was competitively selected as a Young Scholar by the International Law Association.
