The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted global inequalities with regards to health, agricultural trade and food security. To respond to this, this policy brief proposes a new G20 Plan of Action on Agricultural Trade in a Post-Pandemic World. It focuses on three issues, discussion of which is followed by proposed solutions: 1) food export restrictions during the pandemic, 2) agricultural market access barriers, and 3) the Global South’s exclusion from global value chains, decision-making and institutions.
